Let's talk

About Swachal

Swachal (स्वचल) is Hindi for “that which moves by itself”. It seemed the right name for work that's meant to keep running once we've gone home.

Swachal is a small studio that builds websites, AI chatbots and custom CRMs, plus automations and apps, for startups and growing businesses in India and around the world.

A clay model of a small office: the website up on the monitor, the logo's big switch on the wall and two paper planes flying out over the room.

Why we started

Startups kept being offered two things: a builder or AI tool that's quick but generic, or an agency that's good but priced for bigger companies.

Neither fixed the evenings an owner loses copying enquiries into a sheet. So we started Swachal as a third option, and we're still a little amazed people let us do this for a living.

An older shopkeeper in a checked shirt leans on his counter in a dim shop in Moga, Punjab, reading his phone beside a white table fan.
The kind of business we started this for, where the admin waits until the shutter comes down.

What we're for

Startups and growing businesses should get better work than a builder or an AI tool would give them, at rates they can afford.

Sometimes a builder or an AI tool is the right call. Here's when, and when it stops being one.

How we keep it affordable

We think every business deserves a good website and a fair shot at AI. So we make sure every business can afford us.

Honestly, we think a lot of businesses are overpaying: for big-agency overheads, padded quotes, and features nobody asked for. So we don't do that.

We start with the smallest version that works, and grow it once it's paying for itself. Most first versions end up smaller than the one people came in with. That's on purpose.

Being small helps: there's no bigger client to queue behind, and you talk straight to whoever is building it.

The first version is the ticked rows. The rest waits until you know you need it.

Paying for it

There are no prices on this site, because the number depends on what you need. How paying works doesn't change.

One fixed quote, agreed before we start, then paid in parts as the work moves.

You get one fixed quote with the written plan, agreed before any work starts. If a change would move it, you hear before we start on it, so there are no surprise invoices.

  • In stages

A part to start, a part once you've approved the design or seen it working, and the rest at launch. A small project is split between the start and the launch.

  • If it's just you

A one-person business gets the same work on a plan that fits: smaller milestones, a longer spread and no big deposit to start.

  • Care, if you want it

Looking after things once they're live is billed monthly. Stop whenever you like.

  • Running costs

Hosting, AI usage and subscriptions sit on your own accounts, at the provider's price. We add nothing on top.

Want changes? Ask away. We rewrote this sentence four times ourselves.

We stay

Something always turns up after launch, like a customer asking the chatbot a question nobody thought of. So we stay for the long run.

Monthly care covers the fixes and small changes. The next build, say a CRM after the website, is done by people who already know how the business works.

Staying is your call, though. Everything is yours once it's paid for, on accounts in your name, so anyone else can log in and carry on.

What tends to come up after launch.

We wrote up what that looks like once a site is live.

What we do

Five things.

the CRM: every enquiryends up in the ledgeryour businessfollow-upsgo out ontheir ownan app forthe regularsthe website,on someone's phonethe assistant, answering lateopen tomorrow?yes, from 10 am11:40 pm
One business, and where each of the five fits in it.
  • AI assistants

A chatbot trained on your products and policies that answers customers day and night on your website, WhatsApp or Instagram. It says it's a bot, and hands over to a person when it should.

    AI assistants for your business
  • Automation

Software for the copying a small business does by hand: WhatsApp follow-ups, quotes and invoices, CRM updates, the weekly report. It runs on the sheets and WhatsApp number you already use.

    Automation for small businesses
  • Websites and online stores

Custom websites and online stores, built to bring in enquiries. They load fast and are laid out so Google and AI answers can read them.

    Website design for startups
  • Apps

Android and iPhone apps, and web apps such as customer portals and dashboards. They're new for us, so there's no app to show yet, and we check first whether a fast website would do.

    Mobile and web apps
  • Customised CRM

A CRM built around your team's own sales stages, with the website form and WhatsApp feeding into it. You pay once for the build, with no per-user subscription, and the data is yours.

A CRM built for your business

If you don't know which you need, we'll work out with you where AI or automation would pay for itself, and what to leave alone.

What we don't do

Social media management, ads, branding and logos. We get asked, and the answer is no, because we'd do them badly.

The team

One person on the team leads your project, from the first call to launch. That's who you talk to the whole way through.

Designers, developers and automation specialists we trust join as a project needs them, so the right hands work on each part.

A person reads every message, including the ones Chalu passes on.

How a project runs

No jugaad. Proper engineering.

  1. Map

A 30-minute call, then a written plan within two working days: what we'll build, how long it takes, and a fixed quote.

  2. Build

A short recorded demo every week, so you see progress without sitting through meetings.

  3. Connect

Plugged into whatever you run the business on now.

  4. Hand over

Docs, a training walkthrough, and 30 days of free fixes after launch.

Jugaad: a quick fix that gets you through the day.

How a project runs, from the first call to the care after the hand-over.

Things we never do

  • Quote before we understand the problem.
  • Lock you in, or hold your accounts or code hostage.
  • Hide costs or mark up your running costs.
  • Promise search rankings or savings we can't control.
  • Buy fake reviews, send spam or use black-hat SEO.
  • Sell or reuse your data.
  • Build an AI assistant that pretends to be a human. Ours always say they're bots.
  • Take on work we can't do well. We'll point you to someone who can.

Tell us what's eating your week.

That's most of what there is to know about us. If it sounds right, book the 30-minute call.
